Eurobank Direktna donated RSD 1.5 million for refurbishment of locations at Tara National Park
Tara National Park, June 01, 2023 – Eurobank Direktna donated RSD 1.5 million for the refurbishment of locations at Tara National Park, as one of the members of the Association of Serbian Banks providing funds for improving protected areas across Serbia. The funds are allocated for renovation of the hiking track at Lake Perućac and deployment of urban outdoor furniture at Kaluđerske Bare in Tara National Park. Location
“Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of Eurobank Direktna’s strategy and an exceptionally important segment of all business activities. Therefore, the Bank supports the community where it operates, and, on this occasion, we have provided our contribution to the refurbishment of locations at Tara National Park by donating funds in the amount of RSD 1.5 million. Thanks to the Bank’s donation, Lake Perućac and the Vrelo river, well-known for their purity and beauty, now have a new, organised and equipped hiking path, whereas wooden benches, info boards and other equipment have been deployed alongside location Kaluđerske bare. Environmental protection is one of the key areas of our corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, therefore the Bank strives to reduce negative environmental impact by implementing responsible practices and measures,” said Slavica Pavlović, President of Eurobank Direktna’s Executive Board.
The Association of Serbian Banks (ASB) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection signed the Memorandum on Cooperation, aimed at improving protected areas and maintaining biodiversity at the territory of the Republic of Serbia. As an ASB member, Eurobank Direktna has realised the project of Tara National Park’s refurbishment. In two decades of its operation, Eurobank Direktna has been implementing CSR projects and initiatives, with more than EUR 4.8 million invested so far, and environmental protection is one of the key CSR pillars.
