Sremska Mitrovica, December 06, 2023 – Eurobank Direktna provides continuous support to CSR initiatives, and, within its “School Designed for You” project, the Bank realised a new donation in "9. maj" Secondary School of Economics in Sremska Mitrovica. Thanks to the “Eurobank Direktna Big Heart” Mastercard affinity credit card and clients who use this card, the Bank allocates part of its revenue for equipping and modernising secondary schools across Serbia. Eurobank Direktna allocated more than RSD 800,000 for equipping a computer lab in "9. maj" Secondary School of Economics.
This donation of Eurobank Direktna aims to improve conditions for students of secondary schools of economics and to modernise educational methods and curriculum. The newly equipped lab enables classes of vocational subjects, primarily financial accounting and administration, making the educational process more interactive and interesting.
“We are proud of realising a new donation in “9. maj“ School of Economics in Sremska Mitrovica, whose students record numerous successes. Thanks to our clients, users of the “Eurobank Direktna Big Heart” affinity credit card, we provided necessary equipment worth more than RSD 800,000 for the computer lab. In this manner, we aim to create better conditions for classes and advancement in knowledge and skills, in order to enable students to develop their potential and competencies,” said Dušan Mihailović, a member of Eurobank Direktna’s Executive Board.
"Thanks to Eurobank Direktna, which continues to support economic schools throughout Serbia by equipping classrooms with computer equipment. Now, both students and teachers at the "9. maj" Economic School in Sremska Mitrovica will have even better conditions for work and learning, providing an additional motivation for their progress," said Zoran Kasalović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Education.
Supported by the Ministry of Education, Eurobank Direktna launched this project in 2018, with 15 labs in secondary schools of economics in Belgrade, Šabac, Leskovac, Subotica, Zrenjanin, Niš, Bor, Loznica, Stara Pazova, Smederevo and Arilje equipped so far and around RSD 12 million allocated for this purpose.
In addition, upon the Bank’s initiative, the “Travelling Museum” educational programme was launched, in cooperation with the “Jevrem Grujić’s Home", Museum of History, Arts and Diplomacy in Belgrade, so students had the opportunity to learn about Serbian history, culture and art skills through curator-guided and interactive lectures. Thanks to cooperation with the publishing company “Laguna”, a discount on purchasing books was provided for students in the Laguna bookstore in Sremska Mitrovica.
